Designer Favs: Easter Tablescape Inspiration

Presenting a beautiful tablescape for Easter dinner creates a festive and welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages. Here are some ideas to help you plan your Easter table setting with tips directly from the Easter Bunny’s favorite designer and Che Bella Interiors owner, Tracy Hains.

Start with Your Color Palette

To get your design juices flowing, choose a color palette featuring pastels such as soft pinks, blues, greens, and yellows to capture the essence of spring. Layering various colors or shades of a single color creates interest and adds dimension to your table. Don’t forget to bring in a touch of white or gold to add elegance to the overall look. Give it a whirl!

Move to Tablecloths and Napkins

Once your color palette is established, the fun really begins. It’s time to start dressing your table. Lay the foundation with a light and airy tablecloth or runner in a solid pastel or choose a floral pattern. Coordinate napkins in a complementary color or design. Consider folding them into a decorative shape. Bunny ears anyone? Or, use Easter-themed napkin rings, twine or ribbon.

Now for Your Place Settings

Don’t forget that the Easter meal isn’t all about “the look.” Your guests need to eat as well! If you’re in the market for a new set of dishes for the occasion, choose neutral pastels or floral-patterned dinnerware for an Easter feel and choose ones that coordinate with your tablecloth and napkins. If using your current dinnerware, don’t be afraid to play with both your dinnerware and stemware, mixing and matching them for a charming look. To add a layered and visual appeal, consider using decorative chargers, placemats or plates in varying sizes.

Don’t Forget the Centerpiece

Create a thing of beauty using a mix of fresh flowers, easter eggs and greenery. Tulips with ribbon or a bit of twine or burlap set the scene. Arrange them in a vase, a basket, or on top of a tiered cake stand for added visual interest.  Add candles or decorative lanterns to create a warm and inviting ambiance. Play with your centerpiece design knowing that you can take it in almost any direction!

Add in Easter Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies

An Easter table wouldn’t be complete without Easter eggs – either the real or decorative variety. You can place them in nests, or baskets or scatter them on the table. For the adventurous out there, consider painting or decorating eggs with patterns that match your overall theme. For an added layer of whimsy, invite chocolate bunnies to your table, placing them at each place setting or in the center of the table.

Finish Things Off with Personalized Name Cards

Add a layer of personalization by creating name cards for each guest. You can attach them to egg-shaped

placeholders or nestle them up against small spring-themed objects like mini nests or flowers. Your guests will appreciate the extra effort.
