Designer Favs: Bold Color Applications

Bold is definitely beautiful! Take a deep breath and repeat that mantra as you select colors for your home! When it comes to choosing a daring hue, Che Bella Interiors Senior Designer Stef Cohoe is here to offer encouragement (and a gentle nudge). Stef shares her love of bold, dramatic color and details how to incorporate interest into your home through color. Yes, you too, can do it!

Take the Leap!

Stef and the Twin Cities interior design team at Che Bella Interiors often bring bold colors into their designs through cabinetry and wall detail like wainscoting in hallways and on ceilings. Let’s see how they do it!

Sometimes cabinets are the base color for a room because there are so many! In a kitchen especially, they account for a tremendous amount of square footage. This is one of the best places to highlight a bold color!

Who says that your holiday décor needs to be staged with traditional colors? Certainly not us! A moody deep blue used on the walls and built-ins allows this gorgeous holiday tree and its festive twinkling lights to stand out in the room. Find a way to use this idea in your home.

This home office, featuring Sherwin Williams Oceanside (SW 6496), shows how using a single striking paint color to cover your walls, cabinetry and fireplace mantel creates a wow factor that is hard to beat. Throw in a contrasting shade with a similar depth of color in the back of your bookcase as shown here and take your design to the next level.

Use a one-color montage in a room to bring in deep, dramatic color. Carry the color up the walls and onto the ceiling. The end result is nothing short of breathtaking! This project also shows how painting an already fantastic wall detail in an uncommon color really grabs the attention.

Dare To Be Bold!

While choosing a bold shade of paint may be outside of your comfort zone, the payoff can be enormous. Winter is a fantastic time of year to go deep and let your personality shine through with dramatic color. Let the Che Bella Interiors interior design experts be your inspiration.
