Designer Favs: Go-To Paint Colors & Artwork

Perhaps a room in your home needs a fresh coat of paint, or just maybe there’s a décor reboot in your future.  When the time comes to “dress” your walls, look no further than soothing paint colors and abstract artwork and nature-inspired landscapes.  Che Bella design assistant Stephanie Osei shares her go-to paint colors for this time of year and showcases refined artwork that makes a statement.

Mood-Boosting Paint Colors

Think soft, yet bright, as a jumping-off point for selecting paint colors. Steph encourages homeowners to aim for mellow neutrals which give the space that ‘warm hug’ feeling. “These hues invoke a sense of welcome and comfort to help brighten the mood.” Take a peek at some of Steph’s favorites from Sherwin-Williams.

Interior Designer Favorite Neutral Paint Colors

Sherwin-Williams Worldly Gray

This gray has a warm tone that gives off good energy in a room. Put it together with other warm hues or subtly contrast it with the items with the same depth of color to create a comfortable setting.

Sherwin-Williams Drift of Mist

This welcoming gray is the chameleon of its shade.  It plays well in nearly every setting and is the perfect neutral, not trending too light or too dark.

Sherwin-Williams Alabaster

This ‘white’ leans toward warmth and comfort. It threads the needle by being bright without being too cool.

Abstracts and Landscapes

Adding artwork is the next step to dressing your walls. Steph gravitates toward nature-inspired landscapes and abstract pieces when given the chance to work them into a project. “I think abstract art is a beautiful way to subtly add a touch of color to a room without overwhelming the space. Abstracts are lovely conversational pieces and great eye-catchers.” Steph also shares her love of landscapes. “Landscapes in varied mediums keep homeowners connected to the outside world. The power of nature is enormous!”
