Holiday Mantel Decor Tips

The most wonderful time of the year has arrived! Here at Che Bella, we are beyond excited to get our homes ready for the holidays. Despite the hustle and bustle, it truly is one of the most magical times of the year when festivities and traditions bring family, togetherness and memories together.

While it is hard to choose, one of our favorite traditions is snuggling up in front of the fireplace while basking in the holiday glow, with some pizzazz on our mantels of course! To help maximize your holiday cheer, we are sharing some of our favorite tips and advice for decorating a mantel that is worthy of Santa’s trip down the chimney.

Tracy is all about using lots of lights and layers on her mantel while incorporating gold and silver accessories, like ornaments and candles, to bring a vintage charm to her mantel. Her go-to place for unique holiday mantle accessories? Downtown antique shops are a great place to find hidden treasures you won’t find in any other home. Add in some realistic greens and you have a stunning mantel that is sure to have your family and guests commenting!

Calie’s mantra while decorating her mantle is to take a step back and remember that your mantel is part of a bigger picture. Doing so will provide you with a whole new perspective, encouraging you to remove and modify as you go. As for decorating, Calie is all about asymmetrical balance paired with natural elements for an understated, seasonal feel.

Stefanie has a bit of a split personality when it comes to mantel decorating! She either likes to follow the philosophy of ‘simple and neat’ or double down and go with a ‘bigger is better’ approach. No matter which whim she follows, you’ll almost always find her at Hobby Lobby or on Etsy, two of her favorite places to find and create personalized holiday decor that carries plenty of holiday cheer!

Stephanie’s tip is for those who have no mantle at all! Don’t let the lack of a fireplace deter you from creating a seasonal focus for your space! Any flat surface, like a media cabinet, will do just fine! Stephanie loves incorporating traditional holiday elements that would typically hang by a fireplace, like stockings and garlands, to her non-mantle display. Her other design tip? If you are looking for a warmer, cozy feel, stick to using softer decor elements, instead of items with clean or hard lines.
