Tonka Bay Kitchen Remodel – The families perspective

I was very excited when we received a link to a client’s Pinterest board which detailed photos and notes on their perspective behind the scenes of their kitchen remodel. It was so fun to see the project from their point of view. I thought I would share a few photos that were fun to see including the first day of the project and major milestones throughout our progress! Enjoy!

Client note: Day 1 of kitchen demo. Will and Chipper in the soon to be gone sunroom; note the step down, the window configuration, the original laminate floor under the hardwood, and the royal blue counter tops will all change

Client note: New sunroom windows all framed in

Client note: Selecting the soapstone for the counters, the tiles for the backsplash, the cast iron sink and the new cabinet colors to all tie in to the existing maple cabinets was a lot of fun

Client Note: Our new buffet being built at the cabinet maker’s shop

Client note: We had to have a steel framework built to support the floating wrap around countertop

Client note: Ingenious window seat solution dreamed up by Che Bella design team. This was a tiled area full of plants but after the installation of a nice smooth maple seat and lots of pillows – this sunny cozy spot is Will’s favorite spot to hang out, have breakfast and do his homework

Client note: We moved the bank of cabinets that were across from the fridge to the east wall and added new café counter seating that not quite as deep as former counters. This new smaller new wrap around counter space really opens up the flow of kitchen as we can now open fridge and still get by

Client note: Our project spilled over to dining room to give us more storage space … built in buffet matches new cabs in kitchen; we painted/reupholstered our dining chairs to tie into new cabs, added a smaller round antique oak table. We also refinished and stained our hickory hardwood floors on our main floor – it was an unexpected change in plans to stain but they turned out beautiful – I really like how warm it is, how it shows off the floor’s wood grain and ties everything together.
