With an eye toward Irish pub charm, the homeowners hoped to create a lower level that was both functional and inviting. Their original layout idea mirrored the main level, but together we shifted the plan to create a bar and entertainment wall that could be enjoyed from anywhere in the space.
The bar oozes character, including a tin ceiling, brass foot rail, soapstone countertops that will naturally patina, beveled antique mirror tiles, and vintage-inspired lighting that adds nostalgia. Additional features include a flexible entertainment area with a pivoting TV, an art gallery wall, and a built-in bench with game table seating.
The bathroom and back entry carry the character forward with herringbone tile floors that offer a gently worn, lived-in feel. The rear entry provides a quick path from the backyard to the walk-in shower, perfect for cleaning off the family’s muddy pup. Metal and iron accents add rich contrast, completing a space made for easy laughter, good company, and a hint of Celtic warmth.
