The owners of this picturesque waterfront home hoped to reimagine their deck, creating a place to relax and enjoy with relief from the strong afternoon sun. The original project scope called for a three-season porch, but we were able to create a year-round space with a stunning wall of windows that showcases their gorgeous backyard views. The yard is still easily accessible via an existing set of stairs located nearby.
The dramatic vaulted ceiling was designed to maximize natural light and maintain the flow into the existing living area. The extra height allowed for nearly floor-to-ceiling windows, blurring the line between the indoors and out to create a cozy nature-inspired oasis. Screens were added to bring in the fresh air and custom Hunter Douglas blinds were installed to provide both shade and privacy.
