Tuesday Trends: Mixing Metals

Tuesday, October 18th, 2016

There was a time when you had to pick a side of the metal finishes and stay put; such as selecting all chrome, brushed nickel, and so forth.  What is trending now and pushing into 2017 is mixing metal finishes.  Designers are finding ways to mix and match gold lighting or a copper sink with stainless steel appliances and maybe a brushed nickel faucet with oil rubbed bronze hardware.  Mixing metals throughout your home can be a way to balance your space.  All metals bring out a certain character and who can say no to adding a variety of shine and glow to your space.  Below are a few examples to help you get inspired about what metals you will want to mix and match for your home!

Friday Favorites ~ Just a Touch of Velvet!

Friday, October 7th, 2016

Break out the velvet shoes and jackets!  The cooler fall/winter air makes us want to feel warm and cozy in our homes, and what better way than with touches of velvet!  Velvet, no matter what color it is seems to bring a warming effect with the rich fabric.  Below are a few ways to bring velvet into your home without over doing it.  Having the right amount – not too little so that it’s out of place, and not too much, because even though the winter seems to drag on at times, it will get warm again and some pieces are not easy to exchange out.
